Rockwell Lineman Training Center's mission is to instill in every student the importance of reliability, knowledge, and above all, safety in the construction and maintenance of distribution and transmission powerlines.
Our goal is to provide students with the training, instruction, and industry foundation needed to begin pursuing opportunities in the powerline industry.
OUR APPROACH
Training Built Around Real Work
Rockwell's program combines classroom learning with extensive field instruction.
Students aren't simply introduced to the concepts behind linework. They spend the majority of their training hours developing skills in the field.
That approach allows students to build confidence, practice proper safety procedures, learn how equipment is used, and better understand the expectations of the industry.
MEET THE OWNERS & FACULTY
Russ Crandall
Owner & Instructor
Russ has more than 35 years of experience in the powerline industry. His career began through the Southwestern Public Service Department of Labor Lineman Apprentice Program in 1990.
His experience has included journeyman linework, transmission work, underground and overhead distribution, supervision, training, and safety.
Russ has also served as a climbing instructor and continues to bring decades of field experience into the training environment at Rockwell.
Art Samaron
Owner, Program Director & Instructor
Art began his powerline career as a pole tester and transmission construction contractor in 1983 before joining the power utility apprenticeship program.
His career has included work as a journeyman lineman, transmission and distribution foreman, trainer, and instructor, along with extensive experience across the powerline industry.
Together, Rockwell's owners bring more than 75 years of combined industry experience to the program.
